Episode #323 is headlined by IndyCar’s penultimate race of 2021, as the travelling circus headed to California for the Grand Prix of Monterey at Laguna Seca. And on paper, it’ll go down in the books as a dominant win by Colton Herta, having led 91 out of 95 laps. But how we got there was intriguing, with Alex Palou being the only man being able to stay with the incredible mullet. And at the end of the race, we got a big chasedown attempt at the end of the race from Romain Grosjean on a new set of sticky Alternate Tyres. It was certainly dramatic with him taking 2 seconds a lap out of the leading pair, until an over-zealous divebomb attempt to lap Jimmie Johnson ended his slim chances of winning. But it was fun! We discuss it all on the show, as well as some of the remaining silly season rumours, like RLL, McLaren potentially running a third car, and some of the F1 ladder imports like Callum Ilott, who made his debut this weekend!

We also catch up with the last two rounds of MotoGP, with Aragon and Misano both being one by Francesco Bagnaia in stunning fashion. Not one, but two dogfight victories against both Marc Marquez and Fabio Quartararo, the two best riders in the world right now. Misano was one of tension as Fabio got within a tenth of a second in the end, but Pecco held on to seal the win. We also talk about the 2nd fight on track for fourth between Marc Marquez, Jack Miller and a very bitchy Joan Mir, who’s essentially thrown in the towel for 2021 and his title defence. Sassy. And finally, we gush over Enea Bastianini’s shocking 3rd place and first podium in the top flight. A race so good, he broke the lap record FOUR times in the middle period of the race. All that and more broken down on Episode 323 of Motorsport101!
