This was an emergency episode we recorded and turned around ultra quick because for obvious reasons. We were shocked to hear on Monday afternoon the news that Suzuki would out of nowhere, told the team their intent to quit the sport at the end of the 2022 season.

The ramifications from this are massive. Suzuki haven’t even realised any official statements yet as Japan are in the middle of Golden Week, a public bank holiday. We think it’s financially related, and the clues have always been there. From budget cuts rumoured to lack of development despite winning a World Title in 2020.

There’s already been massive speculation regarding their riders future. Where does Joan Mir and Alex Rins go next year? What happens to the grid slots that Suzuki have? And with Dorna already writing a strongly worded letter reminded them of the 5-year agreement the sport signed on with last year, is this going to get settled in the courts?

On top of that, we review the Spanish Grand Prix at Jerez with Francesco Bagnaia winning a narrow fight with Fabio Quartararo, and Marc Marquez producing another miracle save in a fight for 3rd with Aleix Espargaro and Jack Miller.

It’s a special edition of Motorsport, check back this weekend for Monaco’s EPrix!
